Beast Fight
I really like the art style of Mike Mignola and wanted to implement some hard shadows and bright colors.
About a week ago I visited California to see CalArts and also stayed for a few days with one of my mother’s sorority friends. It was my first time on the west coast, and I’ve got to say the weather is the best (no bugs either!) The only thing I couldn’t stand was the traffic in LA, as well as people’s aggressive driving.
I had a very extensive tour of the school that took the whole day. I was supposed to drop in on one of the animation classes but it was canceled because students had to work on their final films. I did get a chance to talk to the director of animation who gave me a great overview of the program and its history, and dropped too many names of successful alumni for me to remember. I was blown away.
My mother cried about three times that day, but for good reasons. The whole time she joked about her appearance, stating that the art students are looking at her Lilly Pulitzer outfit the way she is looking back at them. She told me to date the preppy looking boy in our tour group because everyone else looked too strange and artsy.
I got into all of the schools that I applied to including RISD, and despite some great scholarships offered from many of the schools my gut feeling said home my journey had ended there.
I am looking forward to this fall!
WOW SUPER CUTE! This needs to become an anime already, fantastic quality of animation and characters!Absolutely spectacular. Catch up, America!

I forgot to post this as the initial release but here is my 16x texture pack updated to minecraft 1.5 called Treasure Town. It is a bit whimsical and made for more vanilla game play.
PS I also really dislike the new update, editing is needlessly cumbersome >:(
Whilst buying ice cream I saw a chubby kid jaywalking across the street and is nearly struck by a huge van, whose driver proceeded to chew him out once he was able to come to a stop. Ironically, he was wearing a YOLO shirt. Testing the truth of that, I see.
Knowing I will be moving this summer for college or family occupation I wanted to take some photos to remember the place. When I look at older photo albums, notably middle school, I realize that there are little photos at all and I am embarrassed that I cannot even remember my friend’s faces.
This summer may be my 10th or 11th move. Where and if we are moving is also up in the air as much as my college decision. At least I got accepted into CalArts and the animation staff at Ringling have taken great interest in my portfolio.
So here are some pics that you may enjoy specifically for art reference, the first three were taken at a local artsy place and remind me of homes out of a Miyazaki movie.
